Version 2026-10-17. This agreement is between Ravalak Web Solutions (“Ravalak”, “we”) and the business that buys, subscribes to or starts a trial of a Ravalak plugin (“you”). You accept it by ticking the box when you subscribe, buy, start a free trial or add seats. Questions: info@ravalak.ca.
1. What you get
Each free Ravalak plugin is open-source software under the GNU General Public License (GPL). Your subscription or purchase is for our services: the licence key that switches on the Pro add-on, plugin updates, support, the video training and user guides, and (where offered) the Ravalak text-message service. These services are provided under this agreement.
2. Your licence
- A licence is for one business and the number of websites shown on it. Staging and development copies don’t count.
- For plugins priced per seat, each active staff member is one seat. You must have at least as many seats as active staff. Add or remove seats any time in My Licences; the difference is prorated.
- You may not share, sell, lend or publish your licence key, or use one licence for several businesses.
3. Daily licence and file checks
Once a day, the Pro add-on contacts ravalak.ca to confirm your licence. With that check it sends: your website address and name, the plugin and WordPress versions, the number of active staff (booking plugins), and a fingerprint (a SHA-256 checksum) of each file of the Pro add-on and its free plugin. No customer, appointment or payment data is sent. We use this only to confirm your licence, count seats and check that the plugin’s code hasn’t been changed.
4. Modifying the plugin’s code is not allowed
While you use our services you must run the plugins exactly as we release them. You may not change, remove or bypass the plugin’s code, including the licence, seat, file-check or update code, or install a copy that someone else has changed. Settings, your own theme and separate add-on code that uses the plugin’s published hooks are fine.
If the daily check finds modified plugin files on your live website:
- Your licence is flagged in My Licences and we email you the list of changed files.
- If the files are still modified at the next daily check (about a day later), your licence is suspended for violation of this service agreement. The Pro features stop working on your site and billing is paused while it is suspended. Nothing on your site is deleted.
- To restore it, reinstall the original plugin from My Licences and contact us. We reinstate licences that are back on the original code; repeated or deliberate violations may be terminated.
If your host, a security tool or another plugin changed the files without your knowledge, tell us and we’ll help you put them right.
5. Seats
If the daily check shows more active staff than seats, we’ll ask you to add seats or make staff who no longer work for you inactive. Continuing to use more staff than seats is a breach of this agreement.
6. Ravalak text-message service
- When you choose “Send through Ravalak”, your texts are sent from Ravalak’s number through our provider, with a monthly allowance shown in your settings.
- You may only text people who have agreed to get texts from you, about your services, and you are responsible for following Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL) and CRTC rules (and the equivalent rules where your customers live). Every text identifies your business.
- We record each text’s website, licence, the last digits of the phone number, its length and the time, to count your allowance and prevent abuse. We don’t store the wording of your texts.
- We may limit or stop the service for spam, complaints or misuse.
7. Free trials, billing and cancelling
- Free trials need no card. When a trial ends, the Pro features pause until you subscribe.
- Subscriptions renew automatically each month (or year) until you cancel. You can cancel any time in My Licences; the Pro features keep working until the end of the period you’ve paid for.
- Prices are in Canadian dollars plus GST. We’ll give you at least 30 days’ notice of any price change to an existing subscription.
8. Your data
Your customers’ information stays in your own WordPress website and database. You are responsible for your website, its hosting and backups, and for having a privacy policy that covers the information you collect. We handle the information we receive (section 3, section 6 and your account and billing details) under our privacy policy and only to provide these services.
9. Warranty and liability
The plugins and services are provided “as is”. We work hard to keep them reliable, but we don’t guarantee they will be uninterrupted or error-free. To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, and we aren’t liable for indirect or consequential losses such as lost profits or lost data.
10. Ending this agreement
You can stop at any time by cancelling your subscription. We may suspend or end your licence if you break this agreement (for example by modifying the code, sharing your key or using more staff than seats), after the notice described above.
11. Changes and law
We may update this agreement; the version number at the top shows which one applies, and we’ll email you about important changes. This agreement is governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada that apply there.
